Let’s Run Our Government Like a Business

I reluctantly went to the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) about 2 weeks ago to finish off a wild goose chase that my insurance company put me on.  When it was my turn to take a number, the employee at the front desk gave me a cold stare like I was trash, and rudely told me that I was next. He asks me about the purpose of my visit, and I explain it to him in a normal tone, but without even listening to me, he gives me a BS answer in a very aggressive voice. My blood was boiling, but I didn’t make a scene, I just calmly grabbed a number and took a seat. But it was one of those moments where if I could do it again, I’d take my number and give him a nice juicy head butt.  But considering that our state of California is having one of it’s biggest budget deficit, I have to wonder why we have so many incompetent people working for the government. I have to say, if we ran the government like it was a business then there wouldn’t be a budget deficit.

1. Navin Jain CEO of Intellius. He’s the one that scammed me out of 40 bucks. He deserves a big shoe in his face. see related post

The new craze is out there folks, “Elf Yourself” is a flash application that is brought to you by office depot. It allows you to capture a picture of your face, and put it on a elf that’s busting some serious moves. Then you can send it to your friends so they can all laugh at you, and not with you.

INTELLIUS IS A SCAM

Intellius claims to be a website that can check the background on anyone they choose. I chose to do a reverse phone number check because about 2 months ago I found this lost dog which had a phone number on it’s collar that didn’t work. I was desperately trying to find this dogs owner, and went as far as paying 4.95 to intellius to do a reverse phone number search. Unfortunately, and not surprisingly, Intellius came back with nothing and refunded my money. Luckily I used a credit card because today I found a strange charge of $19.95 to a company called 24 Protect Plus.

I do some Google investigation and discover that many people have fallen for this same scam. They grab your credit card number with a fake people search website, then months later when you least expect it, they charge you on your card. An amount small enough that it probably goes unnoticed by a lot of people. But how are these scam artists allowed to still be in business and not thrown in prison.

just remember: DO NOT EVER DO A PEOPLE SEARCH

Celebrity Paychecks

20 million for this, 45 million for that, these numbers reflect the type of salaries superstars are making.  During good times it makes sense they get these over inflated salaries.  The average joe has enough disposable income to give their favorite basketball players or musicians the life style of the rich and famous.  I mean these are highly marketable public figures which brings entertainment and joy to our lives, even if it’s only skin deep.  But during the bad times, why should record companies, movie studios, and sports franchises give them all this money. If everyone else is suffering than celebrities should be directly affected.

Get Direction

RATE: 4 out of 5
TYPE: Peruvian Cuisine
PRICE: Under $20
PORTION SIZE OF MEALS: The portion size is normal, and it won’t fill up a person with a big appetite.
PARKING: The parking space is very small.
SERVICE: The service at this place is extremely slow, so don’t go here for a quick meal.  Also they don’t serve everything on their menu which was a first for me.  Besides these two draw backs they do have a very appealing decor.
POPULAR: It was voted 2006 LA Best Restaurants.
RECOMMENDED: It’s a good place for socialization, which you will have to do because of the long wait.
WHAT TO ORDER: Try their chicken plate, it’s very delicious,k and they claim to have the world famous rotisserie chicken. It’s a must order.
WHAT NOT TO ORDER: Vegetarian dish is good but it has a lot of onions.  So if you don’t like onion don’t order this.

Why Drugs Should Be Legal

Junkies filling our streets, the collapse of society, this is what people envision when they hear about drugs being legal. I’ve never lived in a time where drugs were ever legal, nor do I know anyone, so I can’t say if a degradation of society would actually occur. But the statistical data that exists on this “War on Drugs” is very scary. Many robberies are committed by druggies desperate for some cash to support their habits. Drug cartels are making billions, and they become as powerful as the countries they live in. Tax payer money is spent in the billions of dollars to employ people to fight this drug war, and no progress has been made. The reality is that making drugs illegal is creating more harm then good.

Brand Name vs. Store Brand

With the economy going down the drain, I think it’s best to choose store brand products compared to brand named products. We are paying more for brand name because of their advertisement costs, but you can’t even tell the difference between most brand name and store brand product. It is probably wiser to save that money for a nice vacation.
